Brochure Mailer for Design Within Reach
Typeface: Helvetica
This project was created in Intro to Typography. In this course we studied the use of colomnar grids, the history of typography, as well as the combination of image and type. We were asked to create a brochure mailer that reflected a collection from a particular designer or a collection of similar furniture offered at Design Within Reach.
In 1941 the Risom Lounge Chair, created by Jens Risom, was designed to embody warmth, beauty, and simplicity. With that I worked to showcase those key elements throughout this brochure. Bringing in warmth through the bold red parachute straps, beauty by showcasing the intricate woven pattern of the material as well as the soft birch wood, and simplicity throughout the overall design and typographic layout. We were instructed, during this course, to use Helevtica.
